We just received a call from a customer and it truly made my day.
A couple of weeks ago, they brought in a mandolin for sale. The mandolin had been owned by his father and he received it after his father’s passing. It sat in their home for many years before he brought it to us to see if it would pick up any value.
Instruments are one of my favorite categories to sell. I love the grace and beauty of a nice instrument, especially stringed instruments (I couldn’t play one to save my life though). Mandolins from this era were selling, and in many cases doing quite well, so we agreed to take it on. He didn’t have any preconceived ideas, just wanted to get something from it and get it into the hands of someone who would enjoy it.
After receiving the instrument, we did some research and learned that it was manufactured between 1917 and 1918. As with all items, we described it fully based on extensive research and included over 20 fantastic photos.
We keep all of our sellers updated by e-mail, one as the item has been listed and another after the sale. Both of those e-mails have a link so they can follow along with the fun if interested. They must not have received the e-mails, so they called today to find out the status.
When I told them it sold, they were excited.
When I told them how much it sold for, they were speechless!
They kept thanking me for helping them, but the pleasure was all ours. That phone call, and knowing that we’ve made them and the new owner truly happy, are the best part of what we do.
Thank you for letting us help you!
